Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy describes the categories of cookies and other tracking tools used by the website without providing a static list of every single technical identifier. Detailed information on preferences and, where applicable, on third parties may be made available through the cookie management panel or the consent tools adopted on the website.
1. Controller
The controller is Plank Italy S.p.A. società benefit (“Plank”), Tax Code and VAT No. 04545400279, with registered office at Sestiere Santa Croce 466/B, 30135 Venezia (VE).
For information relating to the use of cookies and the processing of personal data, it is possible to contact Plank at: [email protected]
The Data Protection Officer (DPO) can be contacted at: [email protected]
2. What cookies and other tracking tools are
Cookies are small text files that websites can store on the user's device during browsing. They may be used, for example, to enable the technical functioning of the website, remember preferences, ensure security, carry out statistical analyses or, where provided for and subject to consent, personalise content and communication activities.
Similar functions may be performed by technologies other than cookies, such as local storage, pixels, SDKs, identifiers or other tracking tools. For the purposes of this policy, the reference to “cookies” also includes, where applicable, such tools.
3. Types of cookies used by the website
The website may use the following categories of cookies and tracking tools, according to the technical configuration actually active.
| Category | Purpose | Consent |
|---|---|---|
| Technical and necessary cookies | They are essential for the functioning of the website, session management, security, traffic balancing, protection against anomalous access or requests and the storage of strictly necessary preferences. | Not required, within the limits set by Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code (Codice Privacy). |
| Preference and functionality cookies | They make it possible to remember settings chosen by the user or to make requested features available. When they are strictly necessary for the service requested, they are treated as technical cookies. | Not required if strictly necessary; required if used for further purposes. |
| Analytics cookies | They make it possible to understand, through data on the use of the website, how the pages are consulted and how to improve performance, content and usability. They may be first-party or provided by third parties. | Not required only when the conditions for equating them to technical cookies are met; in other cases consent is required. |
| Third-party cookies and tools | They may be connected to external services integrated into the website, such as security tools, embedded content, maps, videos, social services, analytics or other technical features. | Depends on the specific function: consent is required when the tool is not strictly necessary or performs tracking. |
| Marketing and profiling cookies, where activated | They may be used to analyse interests and browsing behaviour and to personalise content or promotional communications. | Required in advance. |
The categories actually available and selectable by the user are those shown in the banner or in the “Manage cookies” panel on the website. Where a category is not used, it is neither activated nor made available for consent.
4. Technical and necessary cookies
Technical cookies are used exclusively to carry out the transmission of a communication over an electronic network or to the extent strictly necessary to provide a service requested by the user. They may include, for example, cookies for sessions, security, load balancing, anti-abuse protection and the storage of strictly necessary preferences.
The user's consent is not required for such cookies, without prejudice to the obligation to provide transparent information on their use. Any blocking of them through the browser settings may impair the proper functioning of some parts of the website.
5. Analytics cookies
The website may use analytics tools to obtain statistical information on the use of the pages and on the performance of the service.
Analytics cookies may be used without consent only when, owing to their characteristics and configuration, the conditions laid down by the legislation and by the Guidelines of the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante) for equating them to technical cookies are met. In other cases, analytics tools are activated only after the user's consent.
When the analysis is carried out through third parties, Plank verifies the configuration of the service, the applicable privacy safeguards and, where necessary, the related consent and data transfer regime.
6. Third-party cookies and embedded content
Some features of the website may depend on services provided by third parties, for example infrastructure and security providers, analytics tools, multimedia services, maps, social networks or other embedded content.
The integration of a third-party service does not automatically entail the use of non-necessary cookies. However, when the service entails access to information on the device or tracking activities that are not strictly necessary, it is blocked until consent is obtained, where required.
Information on the third parties actually involved and on the related purposes can be consulted through the cookie management panel or the related information links made available on the website.
7. Marketing and profiling cookies
Should Plank activate cookies or other tracking tools for marketing or profiling purposes, such tools are used exclusively with the user's prior consent.
Not giving consent does not affect the possibility of browsing the website or using the strictly necessary features. The user may withdraw consent at any time through the preference management panel.
8. Management of consent and preferences
On first access to the website, when tracking tools that are not strictly necessary are present, a banner is shown that allows the user to:
- continue browsing while keeping the default settings, with the use of technical or necessary cookies only;
- accept non-necessary cookies and tracking tools;
- reject non-necessary cookies and tools;
- manage their preferences by homogeneous categories and, where applicable, by third parties.
Non-necessary cookies must not be installed before the user has expressed a valid choice. Merely continuing to browse or scrolling do not, on their own, constitute consent.
The user may change or withdraw the preferences expressed at any time using the “Manage cookies” command or a similar tool made available on the website.
9. Cookie duration
The duration of cookies depends on their function. Session cookies are deleted when the browser is closed; persistent cookies remain stored for the period necessary for the purpose for which they are used or until they are deleted by the user.
For non-technical cookies, the duration is defined according to criteria of proportionality and minimisation. Detailed information on the durations applicable to the tools actually active may be made available in the preference management panel or in the documentation of the relevant provider.
10. Transfers of data to third countries
The use of certain technology providers may involve the transfer of personal data outside the European Economic Area. In such cases Plank applies the conditions laid down in Chapter V of the GDPR, relying, as the case may be, on adequacy decisions of the European Commission, on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework for US recipients that are actually certified, on Standard Contractual Clauses or on other safeguards provided for by applicable law.
11. Managing cookies through the browser
The user may also limit, block or delete cookies through the settings of their browser. Blocking technical cookies may, however, impair the proper functioning of the website.
The management methods may vary depending on the browser and the version used. The user may consult the official guides for their browser, including those made available by Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari and Opera.
12. Links to external websites and services
The website may contain links to third-party websites or services that have their own privacy notices and cookie policies. Plank does not determine the methods of processing carried out independently by such parties and invites the user to consult the related notices before using the external services.
13. Updates to the Cookie Policy
Plank may update this Cookie Policy to reflect regulatory or technological changes or changes to the website's configurations. The version in force is published on the website and shows the date of the last update.
Changes that involve the introduction of new purposes or categories of tracking subject to consent are handled by also updating the banner or the preferences panel, where necessary.
14. Contacts
For any request relating to the use of cookies or to this Cookie Policy, it is possible to contact Plank at [email protected] or the DPO at [email protected]
For further information on the processing of personal data carried out through the website, please refer to Plank's Website Privacy Notice.
